Bloom Night

The film is structured as several stories stacked on top of each other. The main plot is about two women who stay awake to witness the Queen of the Night, a plant that only blooms once a year, at night, and withers again before the sun rises. At the same time we hear a young girl’s monologue, where she realizes that the night before she has experienced something bigger than herself, but could only experience its greatness in retrospect. These actions are accompanied by a third, more informative sequence, where one goes into the phenomenon of the bloom night, the structure of the flower and its chemical reactions facing the outside world, and what can not be fully proven; how does the flower know when the time is right?
